Střední zdravotnická škola a Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická Plzeň, Karlovarská 99 in Pilsen has been offering for almost half a century high quality professional medical and general education. We belong to the biggest schools not only in the West of the country, but also among medical schools in the Czech Republic. We educate future nurses, paramedics, nutritional therapists, dental hygienists, pharmacy assistants, laboratory technicians, dental technicians and social workers. A lyceum is a general educational branch of our school. We have about 930 students and 150 teachers.
Our education is realised with more than 220 partners such as the University hospital in Pilsen and other hospitals in the region, Municipal charity, Infant institute etc. The school cooperates with 16 foreign partner organisations from Europe and the USA. Our active and passive project experience includes ESF, ROP, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Tandem, SVES, eTwinning, KA1 and KA2 projects. The aim of our school through this project is to meet students’ ever-changing expectations in terms of language learning tools and methods. Our students are passionate about foreign language learning and a lot of them have participated in Erasmus+ KA1 and KA2 project over the years, where they have noticed how important foreign languages are, both in a professional context, but also to connect with other people from different cultures.
In this partnership, we will target the new students, aged 15-16, in order to improve their language skills from the first years of highschool education. In the past, we have experienced issues regarding students’ level of English during KA1 projects, which is why we aim to address the issue from early stages.
